The Tim Tebow Page was Penned & Compiled By Peter O'Neill for 21st Century Christianity
The son of Christian Missionaries to the Far East... Tim is the Kid that almost wasn't. Pregnant with the last of 5 children, his mom was deathly sick on the mission field and was told by her doctors that she needed to abort the baby. They said he was already dead inside her womb and that even if he wasn't, he would never survive. They said that if she didn't have the abortion she would probably very likely also die. Pam Tebow refused to believe that and stood against all counsel and all odds to believe God to keep her and her unborn child.
It Was A Stand of Faith...
A Faithful Man
It's not that Tim is perfect... it is that he has the heart to fight and not give up. Like his mom laying on that simple bed in the back reaches of a distant mission field... sick and seemingly done for... facing heartbreak and death... she refused to yeild to that... she refused to give up... she chose instead to fight! And that Magic God Given Faith that was Born in her Soul... is also Infused into Timothy Richard Tebow's Heart, Mind & Spirit. When you watch him play you just sense that unwavering courage to not give up. He infuses that into all those around him!
In 2011 Tim started the year off pretty much on the trash heap... as the 4th string QB with the Denver Broncos. The team floundered and with the season virtually lost, Tim was given a chance to play! After Tim came in... God did miracle after miracle useing Tim to give the Broncos a shockingly amazing victorious season. They Finished as the Champions of the AFC WEST and then later... as winners of an incredibly hard fought playoff Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers!
From out of no where "The Down & Out Denver Broncos... Led By The Rejected Tim Tebow", made it through to the second round of the play-offs. Something that was just considered IMPOSSIBLE!
Going into overtime in the Wild Card Championship Game… The news media folks mockingly flashed up "It's In His Hands". Jokingly playing on Tim's strong faith and witness. Well it was in God's Hands, as Tim takes the first snap of overtime and throws a shocking game winner! A play heard round the world by millions & millions & millions!
It Brings To Mind The Words From The Movie "Chariots of Fire"...
That Has Been the Case, As Tim Has Honored God... Faithfully Giving The Lord The Credit For His Victories... while trusting Him for setbacks and problems. Victories That Have Shocked The World... And Faith... (That Despite Frustrations)... That Has Inspired Us All!
May We All Absorb That Fight & Faith & Victory!
Faced with our own individual battles and difficulties to overcome... may we keep our faces towards the sunshine so we won't see the shadow... may we keep our Eyes on the Lord knowing He Is Going to Win the Battle and the Victory!
Tim Tebow Has Been God's Mercy & Encouragement To Us All... Reminding Us That It Is The Lord Who Is Ultimately In Control... And Ultimately
In The End...
It's God Who Wins The Victory
Because of Tim's very sincere and strong faith he was pretty much black balled by the NFL... Never really given a chance to play again. But he did have that one glorious miraculous season and God knows.
As was so strongly brought out by the movie "Concussion" Pro Football is a violent and dangerous sport. 28% of the players will suffer CTE or permanent brain damage from being hit over and over. Quarterbacks are among the worst injured often living out the remainder of their lives in horrible pain and suffering.
God knows what's best... and by being rejected by the ungodly owners and NFL league... it probably saved Tim's life. He is able to be a shining light to the world... a sample of the Love and faithfulness of God To Man! A Sermon That We All Can See!
May God Bless & Keep Tim Tebow!
Sermons We See
I'd rather see a sermon than hear one any day;
I'd rather one should walk with me than merely tell the way.
The eye's a better pupil and more willing than the ear,
Fine counsel is confusing, but example is always clear;
And the best of all the preachers are the men who live their creeds,
For to see good put in action is what everybody needs.
I soon can learn to do it if you'll let me see it done;
I can watch your hands in action, but your tongue too fast may run.
And the lecture you deliver may be very wise and true,
But I'd rather get my lessons by observing what you do;
For I might misunderstand you and the high advise you give,
But there's no misunderstanding how you act and how you live.
When I see a deed of kindness, I am eager to be kind.
When a weaker brother stumbles and a strong man stays behind
Just to see if he can help him, then the wish grows strong in me
To become as big and thoughtful as I know that friend to be.
And all travelers can witness that the best of guides today
Is not the one who tells them, but the one who shows the way.
One good man teaches many, men believe what they behold;
One deed of kindness noticed is worth forty that are told.
Who stands with men of honor learns to hold his honor dear,
For right living speaks a language which to every one is clear.
Though an able speaker charms me with his eloquence, I say,
I'd rather see a sermon than to hear one, any day.
